After one of our directors had a near death experience and ended up in a wheelchair after taking mainstream antibiotic tablets for a sporting injury, many doctors were stumped for answers and told Petri that there was nothing they could do for him. Left with no choice they had to fight for his life and had to find alternative ways to get Petri back to health. Tanya meticulously researched Petri’s symptoms to find ways to save her husband’s life. Looking at everything from a different angle, including alternative medication.
Petri and Tanya connected with brilliant alternative doctors and Charl Muntingh from Healthways, a qualified pharmacist since 1988 and natural medicine expert since 1989. Together they started Petri’s healing process on a cellular level, using a combination of customized medication and natural supplements and they achieved the so-called impossible.
While Petri and Tanya went through this journey, they developed a passion for helping people and for alternative medication. Now, 6 years later Petri is nearing full recovery and the team is eager to share their experience with other people.

Meet the Team
Charl Muntingh is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 30 years of experience in the health industry.
As a registered pharmacist, he has spent decades ensuring safe and effective patient care, while his passion for integrative medicine has led him to specialise in homeopathy, traditional medicine, vitamin and mineral science, as well as live blood analysis. He founded Healthways in 1998 and heads up product development in this growing team of passionate individuals, committed to make a difference.
Charl has always been deeply interested in understanding health from a broader perspective. His journey beyond conventional pharmacy has allowed him to explore holistic approaches to wellness, blending scientific expertise with natural healing methods. Through his work, he strives to provide well-rounded healthcare solutions, helping individuals achieve optimal well-being. Charl is a member of the Traditional Health Organisation and the SA Traditional Doctors Union, as a registered naturopath.
Petri de Wet is a well-loved television presenter and sportsman, achieving protea and Springbok status in several sports. He is and has been involved in the marketing and media industry for more than 24 years. A few years ago, Petri landed in a wheelchair due to the negative effects of antibiotics, and went through a seriously difficult time including a few near death experiences.
During this very traumatic time, Petri spent his life savings going from doctor to doctor, from hospital to hospital, only finding two doctors that could help. Charl Muntingh also got involved with his treatment. Since then, Petri embarked on a difficult but very rewarding journey towards recovery, based on predominantly holistic principles of natural and traditional medicine and herbs.
Today, as he is nearing full recovery, Petri and his wife Tanya – also a television presenter, who gained an enormous amount of knowledge during his illness, together are passionate about sharing his story and helping others to actualise their full potential in a healthier, happier and balanced lifestyle.
Tanya de Wet is a co-tv presenter, production assistant and wife to Petri de Wet. With no experience she had to research chemical ingredients in pharmaceutical medication to save her husband’s life. Tanya gained an enormous amount of knowledge during Petri’s illness and is deeply passionate about a more natural approach to health and recovery.
Werner Lubbe is an avid Comrades runner, road cyclist and Ironman Tri-Athlete, with a multitude of marathons, ultra-marathons, trail-ultras and various other multi-stage events under his belt. He has represented South Africa at 17 World Championships in Sports Angling as coach and athlete, focussing on staying fit and healthy through natural nutrition and supplements.
Werner is qualified in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Business Management. His experience in the corporate and private business sectors is valuable to the team and he takes care of management and processes. As an outdoor enthusiast involved in the angling and outdoor media industry, television and sport at an international level, a healthy lifestyle is essential.
